Hairspray stains on backpacks are more common than one might think. When you're out and about with your backpack, hairspray can be accidentally sprayed onto it, leaving behind unsightly residue. If you're dealing with such a stain, you can use standard household items to clean and remove it.
Instructions
- Start by mixing two parts liquid dish soap with two parts warm water in a bowl. Stir it until the solution forms suds.
- Take a soft cloth and dip it into the mixture. Ensure that the cloth is damp, not soaking wet.
- Gently rub the hairspray stain with the damp cloth until the stain is removed. It may take a few minutes of scrubbing for some stains.
- After stain is gone, rinse the area with warm water and allow it to air-dry.
Tips
- If the stain persists after the first cleaning attempt, you can combine one part vinegar with one part water to make an even stronger cleaning solution. Repeat the previous steps.
- Be gentle when rubbing off stain. Too much pressure can cause the fabric of the backpack to tear.
- For extra protection, consider applying a waterproofing spray or sealant to the backpack.
Warnings
- Never use any bleach-based products as they can create discoloration and weaken fabric of your backpack.
