Pre-Treating the Stain

Hairspray leaves behind an oily residue that can be hard to get rid of. To make removing the stain easier, start by applying a degreaser (such as an all-purpose cleaner) to stain. Scrub gently with a toothbrush, then blot the area with a damp cloth to remove the degreaser.

Washing with Detergent

Once pre-treatment is complete, wash the garment in warm water with a mild detergent. Be sure to use a gentle cycle, as Armani materials are delicate and can easily be damaged. Then, check the item for signs of the stain and repeat the process if it’s still visible.

Using Bleach

If the stain remains after washing, apply a small amount of liquid bleach to area and let it sit for several minutes. Then, rinse fabric thoroughly. You may need to repeat this step multiple times before the stain is completely gone.

Preventing Future Stains

Once you’ve successfully removed the stain, it’s important to take some precautionary steps to prevent future stains. Whenever you’re using hairspray near delicate fabrics, cover the area with a towel or cloth. This will protect fabric from the residue and lessen the chances of staining.
