What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • A soft bristled brush
  • Mild detergent
  • Clean cloth or sponge

Step 1: Identify the Stain

The first step to cleaning a stain is to identify the stain and act accordingly.

If hair spray has left a water-soluble stain, use cool water on the area immediately and blot with a clean cloth.

If it's an oil-based stain, you'll want to use white vinegar to pre-treat it.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain with White Vinegar

To pre-treat an oil-based stain, apply white vinegar directly to the stained area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After that, use a soft bristled brush to gently scrub the area in a circular motion.

After that, blot excess liquid with a clean cloth or sponge.

Step 3: Wash the Area

Use a mild detergent and cool water to wash the area. It is important to use a gentle approach so as not to damage the alpaca fabric. Gently scrub the area in a circular motion and rinse off any remaining residue.

Repeat this process a few times until the stain is completely removed.

Step 4: Let Air Dry

Allow the area to air dry completely before using again. To speed up the drying process, use a fan or blow dryer set on lowest setting. Once dry, the area should be free from stains and ready for use.
