If your activewear has been splashed with hairspray, don't worry. You can get rid of the nasty stains with a few simple steps. Here are some of our top tips:

  • If the hairspray hasn't dried yet, blot away as much of the liquid as possible with a soft cloth.
  • Mix together one part white vinegar and one part water. Saturate stained area with the solution, then rinse with cold water.
  • Another option is to spray the stain with rubbing alcohol and leave it for a few minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth.
  • If hairspray is still visible, make a paste using one-part baking soda and two parts warm water. Work the paste into stain, then leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing.
  • For tough stains, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to the affected area and gently rub it in. Soak the garment in cool water for at least one hour before washing as normal.

By following these tips, you should be able to easily remove hairspray stains from activewear. However, if the stain persists after multiple attempts at cleaning, it might be best to discard the item.
