1. Use a Commercial Stain Remover

You can purchase a commercial stain remover from your local hardware store, grocery store, or online. These products are specifically designed to remove a variety of stains, including hairspray. Be sure to follow instructions on the product label for best results.

2. Rub With Alcohol or Ammonia

Rubbing the stained area with a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol or ammonia can help break up and remove the hairspray stain. The smell of either can be quite strong, so be sure to open windows and have good ventilation when using these techniques.

3. Use Soap and Water

Sometimes, a simple soap and water solution mixed together can do trick. Apply some of mixture to stains and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water. You may need to repeat this process multiple times to get desired results.

4. Use Baking Soda and Vinegar

For tougher stains, you can create a paste consisting of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar. Apply the paste directly to stain and let it sit for about 15 minutes before wiping away. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with cool water afterwards.

5. Wash With Detergent

If the stains still remain, you can try washing the item with laundry detergent and warm water. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions for the best way to do this. Once washed, hang to dry and inspect its condition before wearing it again.
