Hairspray is a useful styling agent, but its stickiness can be a nuisance when it gets on delicate fabrics like those made by Abercrombie & Fitch. Fortunately, if you act quickly, you can erase the offending stains and restore your wardrobe in no time.

Before attempting to remove the hairspray stain, make sure to check the fabric’s label for cleaning instructions. Follow instructions carefully, especially if the fabric is dry-clean only. If the label says safe to machine wash, follow the water temperature and detergent guidelines.
First, gently remove as much of the hairspray as possible by blotting the stain with a paper towel. For best results, use warm water and a mild detergent to form a lather. Then, using a soft brush or a cloth, rub the area gently but firmly. Once this is done, rinse the area with cold water and blot it with a clean towel or paper towel.
Once all of the residue has been removed, lay out the garment flat and let it air dry. Do not tumble dry or use a hot iron, as this could cause the stain to set into the fabric. Depending on the size and severity of the stain, you may wish to consider professional cleaning.
Dry hairspray should always be sprayed onto the hair from at least 10 inches away from the body in order to avoid any unpleasant stains. You may also want to consider wearing a protective cape while styling to prevent stray sprays of hairspray from getting on your clothes.
