If you work with machinery, then there’s a high likelihood of you getting grease and oil on your workwear. These stains can be challenging to remove, but they’re not impossible. By following these quick and easy steps, you’ll be able to eliminate grease and oil stains from your workwear in no time.
The first step is to remove as much of the excess grease and oil as possible. Use a spoon or a butter knife to scrape away the residue. Be careful not to spread stain while you’re scraping it off, as this will just make it harder to remove.
Next, pre-treat the stained area with a detergent or pre-wash spray. Allow the detergent to sit on the stain for at least 5 minutes before washing.
For the best results, use hot water when washing your workwear. This will help to break down grease and oil particles, making it easier to get the stain out. If you're washing a colored garment, make sure to use a color-safe detergent.
If possible, avoid putting your workwear in dryer after washing it. Heating the fabric can cause the oil and grease particles to set into the fabric, making them more difficult to remove.
If the stain is still visible after washing, use a specialty oil and grease stain remover. Follow the directions on the package and let the product sit for the recommended amount of time before washing again.
If the stain is still visible after washing, repeat steps 2-5 until it is completely gone. Depending on the type of fabric, the stain may take multiple tries to remove completely.
By following these steps, you should be able to easily remove grease and oil stains from your workwear. It may seem daunting at first, but with a bit of patience and some elbow grease, you should be able to get those stubborn stains out of your clothes in no time.
