To pretreat stain, use a mild dishwashing detergent. Dilute detergent in warm water and apply it directly to stained area. Gently work the detergent into the stain using a soft cloth or your fingers. Allow the detergent to soak into the fabric for 10-15 minutes.
If the stain remains, try using vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with one part white vinegar and two parts water. Spray the stained area with the mixture and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Blot the stained area with a clean, damp cloth or sponge. Repeat this process until stain fades away.
If the stain is still visible, you can try using laundry detergent. Apply a generous amount of liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain, working it into fabric. Allow the detergent to soak into fabric for 10-15 minutes. Rinse the stained area with cold water and repeat if necessary.
If the stain is still there after trying the other methods, finish off with an ammonia solution. Mix one part ammonia and two parts water in a spray bottle and spray it onto the stained area. Let the solution soak into the fabric for 10-15 minutes. Rinse the area with cold water and repeat process if necessary.
Once the stain has been removed, wash and dry the fabric according to the care instructions on the label. This will help to remove any residue that may remain from the pretreatment and cleaning processes.
Removing grease and oil stains from voile fabric doesn't have to be difficult. With the proper techniques, these stubborn stains can be removed so that the fabric looks clean and refreshed.
