Step 1: Blot the Stain

Use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot the stain gently. This will help absorb as much of the grease or oil as possible without pushing it further into the fabric.

Step 2: Sprinkle Cornstarch on the Stain

Cover the stain with cornstarch and let it sit for 10 minutes. This will help to soak up any remaining oils or greases that are still in the fabric.

Step 3: Scrape Off the Cornstarch

Gently scrape off the cornstarch with a spoon or similar tool. Be sure not to rub the spoon against the fabric, as this could damage it.

Step 4: Apply Vinegar Solution

Mix one part white vinegar and two parts water in a bowl. Dip a cloth in the solution and use it to scrub the stain in circular motions. The vinegar helps break down oils and greases, making them easier to remove.

Step 5: Rinse With Cold Water

Once the vinegar solution has had time to work its magic, rinse area with cold water. Be sure to blot area dry with a clean cloth or towel.

Step 6: Repeat Steps if Necessary

If you’re still seeing some residue from the grease or oil, repeat the steps until the stain is completely removed.
