Step 1: Blot Away Excess

Use a paper towel or cotton cloth to blot away any excess grease or oil on the tracksuit. This will help reduce the amount of cleaning you will have to do and stop the stain from spreading.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

Pre-treating stain helps break down oils before you try to lift them out of the fabric. Mix liquid laundry detergent with lukewarm water and use it to pre-treat the stain. Gently rub the solution into the fabric and let it sit for five to ten minutes.

Step 3: Scrub Stain

Use a brush to scrub the stain until the detergent and water have lifted as much oil as possible. Be sure to use gentle circular motions to avoid ruining the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

Rinse the area with lukewarm water until it no longer feels soapy. If any of oils remain, move on to the next step.

Step 5: Apply Grease Cleaner

If the stain still remains, apply a grease cleaner to the affected area. Be sure to read the instructions on the cleaner before using it. Rub the cleaner into the fabric using gentle circular motions and let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 6: Rinse Again and Air Dry

Once cleaner has had a chance to work its magic, rinse the area with lukewarm water again. Hang the tracksuit up to air dry, making sure to avoid direct sunlight or heat which can set the stain.
