How to Remove Grease and Oil Stains from Your Thong

  1. Soak the stained area of your thong in a mixture of equal parts warm water and mild detergent for 30 minutes.
  2. After soaking, use a soft cloth to gently scrub the stained area.
  3. Mix one part liquid dish soap with two parts baking soda and apply the paste to the stain. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse the paste from the thong under cool running water.
  5. If there is still an oily residue on the thong, rub a small amount of laundry detergent directly onto the stain and let it sit for up to 15 minutes.
  6. Gently scrub the stain before rinsing it out with cool water.
  7. If the stain persists, repeat steps 1-5 until it is gone.
  8. Allow the thong to air dry or place it in the dryer on a low setting.

Additional Tips

  • Always test new cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area of the thong before using it on the stain.
  • Be aware that some fabrics may be more prone to staining than others. If you are uncertain about how to clean a certain fabric, seek assistance of a professional cleaner.
  • When in doubt, take the thong to a professional dry cleaner.
  • Grease and oil stains may be permanent on some fabrics, so prevention is always better than a cure.
