Slippers should feel soft and cushiony, not slippery and greasy from oil and grease stains. The good news is that there are a few simple solutions you can use to clean these items. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Create a paste by combining two parts baking soda with one part water. Using a brush, gently scrub the paste onto the stained area of the slipper. Allow paste to sit on the stain overnight before washing off with warm water.
  • Mix together equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture onto the stained area of the slipper. Allow the mixture to sit for several minutes before wiping away with a damp cloth.
  • If stain is particularly stubborn, mix together equal parts dish soap and hydrogen peroxide and apply to the stained area of the slipper. Allow solution to sit for several minutes before rinsing with warm water.

After using any of the above solutions, allow the slippers to air dry naturally. Once they are dry, they should look and feel as good as new!
