Step 1: Blot Immediately

Once you’ve noticed the stain, first step is to act quickly. Blot up as much of the grease or oil with a paper towel or clean cloth.

Step 2: Mix Detergent and White Vinegar

Mix one tablespoon of detergent and one teaspoon of white vinegar with two cups of lukewarm water. Stir the mixture until incorporated and apply a small amount to the stained area.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Let the mixture sit for approximately 15 minutes. Then use a damp cloth to rinse the area completely. You may need to repeat steps two and three several times, using a clean cloth or paper towel each time, until stain is gone.

Step 4: Soak

Fill a basin or container with tepid water and add one teaspoon of mild detergent. Soak area for 30 minutes, then gently blot dry.

Step 5: Dry Clean

To ensure any remaining grease and oil is removed, take your silk organza to a professional dry cleaner. Be sure to mention the stain, so they can do the best job possible in removing it.
