Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a paper towel or absorbent cloth, start by blotting the grease or oil stain. Do not rub the area as this may risk spreading greasy or oily residue.

Step 2: Water and Detergent Solution

Mix a tablespoon of a mild detergent with a few drops of warm water. You can use a gentle laundry soap or shampoo for this step. Test the solution on a hidden area of the fabric in order to assess if color is altered.

Step 3: Spot Clean

Dip a cloth in the solution and start gently working on the stain. Rub the area lightly in circular motions and work your way outwards. Do not scrub stain. The cloth will help pull up the grease or oil residue.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the area thoroughly with cold water until all the soapy solution is gone. Blot the area with a towel to absorb any remaining moisture.

Step 5: Leave to Air Dry

It is important to let the area dry completely before moving on. Leave the area to air dry naturally in a cool, dry place. Do not use a hairdryer or direct heat as this could damage the fabric.
