Steps to Cleaning Grease and Oil Stains from Silk Faille

  1. Blot the stain with a paper or cloth towel. Do not rub the towel on the fabric as this could spread stain and make it worse.
  2. Create a cleaning solution by mixing one part mild dish soap with two parts warm water.
  3. Dip a soft cloth into the cleaning solution and then gently blot stained area to saturate it. Do not rub the fabric!
  4. Rinse the area with warm, clean water and a damp cloth.
  5. If the stain remains, mix a tablespoon of white vinegar and a cup of warm water. Dip a cloth into the solution and again, gently blot the stained area until it is saturated. Rinse again with warm, clean water and a damp cloth.
  6. Allow fabric to air dry in a cool, dry place (not direct sunlight).
