Grease and oil stains can be some of the most difficult to remove from shoes. In order to successfully clean them, you'll need the right tools and techniques. With this guide, we'll teach you the best methods for cleaning grease and oil stains off your pumps so that you can get them looking good as new.
Before you begin, you'll need to gather a few supplies in order to have the best chance of removing the stains. Here's what you'll need:
Start by blotting the stain with a paper towel or an old rag. This helps to absorb some of grease or oil before it gets completely dried into the fabric of the shoe.
Once you've blotted stain, it's time to apply some dry cleaning solvent. Spray the solvent directly onto the spot and then let it sit for a few minutes. This should help to break down stain and make it easier to remove.
After the dry cleaning solvent has had a chance to work, it's time to start scrubbing. Use a shoe brush to gently work the stain out of the fabric. Be careful not to scrub too hard, as you don't want to cause any damage to shoe.
After you've brushed away the stain, it's time to rinse out the area. Use a clean cloth and some water to rinse out all of cleaning solution. Once the area is clean, you can go back to step 1 and repeat the process until the stain is completely removed.
Now that you've followed the steps above, you should have successfully removed the grease or oil stains from your pumps. Just be sure to keep an eye out for any lingering stains and continue to follow these steps until they are all gone.
