Forget About Grease and Oil Stains with These Easy Steps to Clean Poplin!

Oil and grease stains on clothes can be extremely frustrating and difficult to remove. With right technique and supplies, however, you can easily clean poplin fabrics stained with oil or grease. Here's what you need to know.

What You'll Need

• A washing machine
• Heavy-duty laundry detergent
• White vinegar
• An old toothbrush
• A clean cloth

Instructions for Cleaning Poplin

1. Machine wash the stain separately on a normal cycle in hot water.
2. If stain is still present, then pre-treat it with a heavy-duty laundry detergent.
3. After applying detergent, use an old toothbrush to work it into the fabric until the grease or oil has been removed.
4. To finish, rinse the item in cool, clear water and then launder it again with heavy-duty laundry detergent.
5. If stain persists, try soaking fabric in white vinegar for one hour before laundering.
6. When the item is finished washing, lay it flat on a clean cloth and leave it to air dry.
