The first step to cleaning grease and oil stains from pillows is to remove any excess oil or grease that may be on the surface. Use a damp sponge to gently dab the affected area.
Once you’ve removed any surface oil or grease, it’s time to apply a detergent. Use a gentle detergent that you would use for dishes, and mix it with lukewarm water. Dab mixture onto stain and let it sit for a few minutes. This will help to break down the grease and oil and make it easier to remove.
After letting the detergent sit on the stain for a few minutes, rinse the pillow with warm water. This will help to remove any remaining residue and get rid of the detergent.
Once you’ve rinsed the pillow with warm water, use a dry towel to absorb any remaining moisture. Blot the stain until it is no longer visible. Do not rub the stain as this could cause the grease to spread.
Once you’ve blotted the pillow with a dry towel, allow it to air dry completely. Hang it outside if possible to speed up the process. And don't put it in the dryer, as this could set the stain.
