Having a few essential cleaning tools on hand will make sure you're ready to tackle outdoor furniture messes whenever they arise. You'll need liquid dish soap, warm water, white vinegar, baking soda, ammonia, a brush, cloth, and a spray bottle.
To remove grease and oil stains from outdoor furniture, start by wiping down surface with white vinegar. The acidity of vinegar will help lift stain and leave your furniture looking shiny and new again.
If vinegar doesn't do trick, you can use a mixture of baking soda and ammonia. Mix a quarter cup of baking soda with a half cup of ammonia and stir to combine. Once all the ingredients are blended together, apply the concoction to a cloth and rub furniture in small circles. When you’re finished, wipe the area down with a damp cloth, then let it air dry.
For tougher stains that still won't budge, try mixing a few drops of dish soap with warm water. Dip a soft-bristled brush into the soapy solution and gently scrub the stained area of the furniture. After a few minutes, use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down affected area and let it air dry.
While these tricks and techniques are great for removing stubborn grease and oil stains, regular maintenance is the best way to ensure your outdoor furniture stays looking its best. Keeping furniture covered when not in use or spraying it down with a garden hose every once in awhile can go a long way in preserving its aesthetic.
