Pre-Treat Stains with Laundry Detergent

To get started, gently scrape away any excess stain using a dull knife or spoon, being careful not to spread the stain further.

Once you’ve scraped away excess, liberally apply laundry detergent or liquid soap. Let the detergent or soap soak into the stain for 10-15 minutes before washing.

Clean Stains with an Enzyme-Based Stain Remover

If pre-treating with detergent hasn’t done the trick, you will need a more powerful cleaning agent. An enzyme-based stain remover is powerful enough to break down even the toughest grease and oil stains.

Follow the instructions on the bottle to apply the stain remover. Be sure to check the care label on the fabric to ensure the stain remover does not damage the organza fabric.

Wash with Hot Water and Detergent

Once you’ve applied the stain remover, wash the fabric in hot water with a quality detergent. Don’t forget to check the care labels on both the stain remover and fabric to make sure they are compatible.

Once finished, let fabric air dry, or if the stain is still visible use a fabric steamer or iron on low heat.

Chlorine Bleach

If the stain is still not coming out, you may need to use chlorine bleach. To avoid damaging the fabric, be sure to test the bleach on an inconspicuous area first to see how it reacts.

If compatible with the fabric, mix one teaspoon of chlorine bleach with half a litre of cold water. Use a sponge to work the solution into the fabric, then rinse off with cold water.

Prevent Grease and Oil Stains

The best way to deal with grease and oil stains is to prevent them in first place. Before wearing organza fabric, spray it with a protective layer such as Scotchguard or waterproofing spray, preventing spills and stains from penetrating the fabric.
