Step 1: Choose a Cleaning Solution

The type of cleaning solution you use will depend on the type of fabric your midi dress is made of. Always check the care label to make sure the fabric will be safe with the cleaner you choose. For light fabrics, dish soap or laundry detergent are usually suitable. For heavier fabrics, you can use a pre-treatment stain remover. You can also make a homemade cleaner by mixing one part white vinegar with one part water.

Step 2: Test the Solution

Before applying cleaning solution to your midi dress, it's important to test it first on an inconspicuous part of the fabric (like inside seam or hem) to ensure that it won't damage the material. Let the solution sit on the fabric for a few minutes and then wipe it away with a cloth. If it seems safe, you can move on to the next step.

Step 3: Apply the Solution

Using a clean cloth, gently blot the stained area of the midi dress with cleaning solution. Keep blotting until you've worked the solution into the stain. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread further.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

After the cleaning solution has had time to work on the stain, rinse fabric with cold water. Be sure to use a gentle stream of water or you risk spreading stain further. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
