The first step to removing grease stains from your lawn is to dilute the stain with a mild detergent and warm water. You can use a bucket or large container to mix the soap and water. Once you've got the mixture prepared, pour it directly onto the stained area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. This will help to break down the stain.
Once the solution has soaked into the stain, take a stiff brush and scrub the stained area. Scrubbing will help get rid of the remaining stain and any dirt or debris that may have been stuck to it. Be sure to use a brush with bristles that are thick enough to get a good grip on the stain, but not so tough that they damage the lawn.
Once you're done scrubbing, rinse the area with warm water and let it dry completely. The stain should be gone, but if it's still there, you can repeat the process until it is.
Oil stains can be a bit more difficult to remove since they don't usually mix well with water and soap. To help loosen the stain, you can use an absorbent material like kitty litter or sawdust. Sprinkle the material over stain and let it sit for about an hour. This will help draw some of the oil out of the grass and make it easier to remove.
Once the material has been sitting for an hour, you can use the same technique as before. Grab a stiff brush and scrub stained area with a little bit of detergent and water. Again, be sure to rinse the area thoroughly and let it dry before moving on.
Getting grease and oil stains out of your lawn isn't always easy, but following these steps should make the job a little easier. With a little bit of elbow grease and some cleaning solutions, you should be able to get your lawn looking as good as new in no time.
