Step 1: Remove Excess Stains

Using a paper towel or old rag, gently dab away any excess grease or oil still stuck on the surface of your Keds. Don’t scrub, as this can damage the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Geneously spray or pour a pre-treatment product onto stained area. Be sure to use a product specifically made for Keds, as other products may be too harsh. Let the pre-treatment sit for at least 10 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse Away the Pre-Treatment

Rinse away the pre-treatment with warm water. Make sure all traces of the pre-treatment are gone.

Step 4: Wash Keds in the Machine

Place your Keds into a mesh laundry bag and machine wash them on the delicate cycle. Use a low-alkaline detergent to prevent discoloration. Don't forget to remove the laces beforehand!

Step 5: Dry Keds in the Sun

Once your Keds have been washed, make sure to hang them out in the sun for a couple hours. This will help them dry faster, smell fresher, and keep their shape.
