Pre-Treat Grease and Oil Stains with Detergent

Before laundering, pre-treat your garment with a liquid laundry detergent or a pre-wash stain remover. To use liquid laundry detergent, apply a small amount directly to the stained area. Gently rub the liquid detergent into the fabric with a cloth or brush. To use a pre-wash stain remover, read the instructions on the packaging carefully and apply it to the grease and oil stains.

Soak in Hot Water and Soap

Create a mixture of hot water, detergent and a few drops of white distilled vinegar. Allow the garment to soak for 1-2 hours in the mixture. Make sure to stir the mixture every 15 minutes to facilitate removal of the grease and oil stains. After soaking, rinse jumper in warm water and remove any remaining residue.

Hand Wash with Warm Soapy Water

Fill up a basin with warm soapy water and add a few drops of white distilled vinegar. Place the garment into basin and gently agitate fabric to release the grease and oil stains. Once the stains have been lifted out of the fabric, rinse the jumper in warm water and hang to dry.

Machine Wash with Detergent

Set your machine to the gentle cycle and fill it with lukewarm water. Add a quality detergent and a few drops of white distilled vinegar. Place garment into the machine and allow it to go through its entire cycle. When finished, hang the garment to air dry.
