Things You'll Need

  • An all-purpose cleaner
  • A cloth
  • Baking soda
  • Paper towels
  • Dish soap

Instructions

  1. If the stain is still wet, use a paper towel to absorb as much of the oil and grease as possible.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda onto the stain to soak up any remaining oil. Let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. Wet a cloth with an all-purpose cleaner or dish soap and gently rub the area in a circular motion. Make sure not to scrub too hard or you may damage fabric.
  4. Rinse the cloth and repeat until stain is gone.
  5. Allow area to air dry.

Tips

  • If the stain is stubborn, use a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water to help break it down.
  • If the stain doesn't come out the first time, don't be disheartened. It may take a few tries.
  • If possible, avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach that may discolor the fabric.
