Supplies You'll Need

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Grease-cutting dishwashing liquid
  • Stain remover
  • Clean cloth
  • Stiff brush

Removing Grease Stain

  1. Run stained area of the fabric under cool water to rinse out any excess grease.
  2. Mix one part liquid laundry detergent and one part white vinegar in a small bowl. Stir to combine.
  3. Dip a clean cloth in the mixture and dab it directly onto the stain. Rub lightly in a circular motion.
  4. Rinse the spot with cool water to remove the detergent-vinegar mixture and check for changes in stain.
  5. If the stain remains, mix one part grease-cutting dishwashing liquid with two parts warm water. Soak a clean cloth in the solution and blot the stained area.
  6. If the stain persists, apply a stain remover to the fabric with a clean cloth and rub gently in a circular motion.
  7. Finally, scrub affected area with a stiff brush and rinse with cool water. Allow fabric to dry completely before wearing.

Additional Tips

  • Always test cleaning solutions on a discreet part of the fabric first to make sure they won’t cause further damage.
  • Don’t use hot water, as it can set stain permanently.
  • Repeat the procedure until stain disappears.
