Step 1: Absorb Grease or Oil

Before you can begin cleaning stain, you will need to absorb any excess oil or grease. Begin by blotting the stained area with a paper towel or an absorbent cloth. Be sure to always blot, never rub, as this could cause stain to spread further.

Step 2: Apply Talcum Powder

Once you have blotted area, sprinkle a generous amount of talcum powder onto the stained portion. Allow the powder to sit overnight, as this will help it absorb any remaining grease or oil. In the morning, brush away the talcum powder with a soft brush.

Step 3: Use a Detergent

If the stain does not come out with talcum powder, you may need to resort to a stronger cleaning solution. Mix ¼ teaspoon of a mild detergent with one cup of cold water in a small bowl. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the detergent solution and gently dab the stain. Do not rub the spot, as this could cause the stain to spread to other parts of the bag.

Step 4: Rinse the Area

Once you have cleaned stain, rinse area with cold water. This will help remove any soap residue. Finally, blot the area with a paper towel to absorb any remaining moisture. Allow the bag to air dry before using.
