Method 1: Use a Hair Dryer

One of easiest ways to remove oil and grease stains from hair ties is to use a household hair dryer. Heat and air will help to lift away some of grease and allow you to wipe the stained area with a damp cloth. Make sure you move hair dryer continuously over the stained area and avoid keeping it in one spot too long.

Method 2: Soap and Water

Another easy way to remove oil and grease stains from hair ties is to mix a small amount of soap and water together and apply it to the stained area. Gently rub the mixture into stain with a soft cloth. Once you finish, rinse tie with cold water, then lay flat to dry.

Method 3: Cornstarch

If stain is particularly stubborn, try sprinkling a bit of cornstarch onto affected area. Allow the cornstarch to sit on the stained area for at least 30 minutes before brushing it off with a clean cloth.

Method 4: Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is a great way to remove tough grease stains from your hair ties. Combine equal parts rubbing alcohol and warm water and apply it to the stained area with a cotton ball. Then, rinse off with cold water and allow the tie to dry.
