Habutai is a beautiful silk fabric with a glossy shine that is often used to make dresses, scarves, and kimonos. Unfortunately, it can also be prone to grease and oil stains, which can be an eyesore.

Fortunately, cleaning grease and oil stains from Habutai isn’t difficult if you know what to do. Here are the steps you should take to get rid of those pesky marks:
If you notice a grease or oil stain on your Habutai fabric, don’t panic! The sooner you take action, the better. Gently blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of liquid as possible. Do not rub the stain, as this may make it spread.
Next, apply some grease-fighting detergent to the stain (it's best to use a product specifically designed for use on delicate fabrics). Allow the detergent to set on the stain for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water. You may need to repeat this process several times in order to completely remove the stain.
Once the detergent has had some time to work, rinse the fabric with cold water. This will help to remove any remaining detergent residue and wash away any remaining grease or oil.
After rinsing, gently squeeze out any excess water and lay the fabric flat on a drying rack. Allow the fabric to dry thoroughly before returning it to its original place.
