Stains on garter are best treated with a bit of mild detergent and warm water. Begin by soaking a sponge in the soapy mixture and applying it to the affected area. Use a circular motion to form a lather and dab at the stain until it begins to lighten. Then, rinse the garment with fresh, tepid water.

If the stain is still visible, try using a small amount of white vinegar or citrus-based cleaner. Be careful not to rub the material too harshly, or it could damage the delicate fibers. Simply dab the substance gently onto the afflicted spot and allow it to sit for several minutes before blotting with a damp towel.

If the stain persists, try mixing a teaspoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of water. Apply this paste directly to the stain and let it sit for about 30 minutes before scrubbing lightly with a soft cloth. Rinse the garment with cold water, then allow it to air dry.

For more stubborn spots, try using a concentrated laundry detergent. Dilute the cleaner according to package instructions and use it to make a thick paste. Place a clean cloth over the stain and press down gently with a warm iron. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain fades away.

No matter what method you use, it’s important to always test a small, hidden area of fabric first to avoid any unwanted discoloration. After the stain has been removed, wash the garment according to care instructions and air dry.
