First, blot the excess grease or oil off the fabric with a cloth or paper towel. Do not scrub or rub the stain, as this can push it further into fibers of the fabric. Instead, just press firmly against area until all of the liquid has been absorbed.

Next, if there is still a discoloration or mark left on the fabric, mix a solution of one part dish soap and one part white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a soft bristled brush into the soap-vinegar combination and lightly scrub the stained area.

Now rinse the area with cold water, then pat dry with a clean cloth. If there is still some discoloration from the grease or oil, repeat steps starting with mixing the soap-vinegar solution until the stain is gone.

Having trouble getting stubborn grease and oil stains out of your flannel clothes? Try using a small amount of rubbing alcohol, applied directly to spot using a cotton swab, then rinse with cold water.

For deep-set stains, try washing the garment in hot water with a cup of ammonia. Let the garment soak for one hour and then rinse thoroughly with cold water before air drying.

Finally, use an aerosol hairspray or rubbing alcohol on the stain to help remove any last remnants of the grease or oil. Spray the area, let it stand for a few minutes, then blot it up with a cloth or paper towel.

With these tips, you can easily get rid of those stubborn grease and oil stains on your flannel clothing, without damaging the fabric.
