Nobody likes greasy stains on their fila, but life happens and it’s easy for them to accumulate. With the right products and techniques, getting rid of pesky grease and oil stains is a breeze. Here’s how to clean grease and oil stains from your Fila fabric with ease.

The Right Products and Tools:

Having the right cleaners and the correct tools will make job easier and give you the best results. You need:

• Dish soap
• A sponge
• White vinegar
• Borax
• Ammonia
• A soft scrub brush
• Dry cleaning solution
• 4 clean cloths

Steps To Removing Grease and Oil Stains From Fila:

1. Take one of the cloths and blot the stain gently to remove any excess oil or grease. Then wash the affected area with a soap solution made with 1 tablespoon of dish soap and 2 cups of warm water.
2. Rinse the area with a damp cloth until the suds are gone and the area is clean.
3. Mix together 1/2 cup of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of borax, and 1 cup of warm water. Dip the clean cloth into the solution and wring out excess.
4. Work the solution into the stain with a soft scrub brush. Let mixture sit on the stain for 15 minutes before rinsing off with clean, cool water.
5. If stain still remains, use a dry cleaning solution and blot the area with a fresh cloth. Then rinse with cold water and let the area air dry.
6. Once the area is completely dry, use the remaining two clean cloths to buff the fabric. This will help restore the fabric’s original finish.

Preventative Measures:

To keep your Fila free from grease and oil stains, there are some preventative measures you can take. Always dab the fabric with a cloth before applying any liquids. Avoid wearing heavy moisturizers or perfumes near the fabric and never apply nail polish remover or hair dye onto the fabric.
