Things You'll Need
- Dry Cleaner solution
- Laundry Detergent
- Water
- Towel
- Toothbrush (optional)
Steps to Remove Grease and Oil Stains from Double Georgette
- Check if the double georgette fabric is sensitive to water by testing it in an inconspicuous area of the fabric.
- If it is safe to do so, pre-treat the area with a dry cleaner solution, such as Afta Dry Cleaning Fluid. Apply it to the stain and massage it gently with a clean cloth.
- Rinse the area with lukewarm water. This will help to remove any residue from the dry cleaner solution.
- Make a thick lather of liquid laundry detergent in a bucket or basin containing warm water. Soak the stained area in the mixture.
- Gently rub the stained area with a toothbrush. This will help to break down any remaining grease and oil stains.
- Rinse the area with clean water. Blot the area dry with a clean cloth or towel.
- If the stain is still visible, try repeating the process until it is completely removed.
Additional Tips
- If the fabric is not water safe, put some dry cleaner solution on stain and leave for 10 minutes, then wipe off with a clean cloth.
- If the fabric is delicate, use a mild detergent instead of a harsh liquid soap.
- Always test the detergent on a small area of the fabric before using it on the stain.
