Things You'll Need

  • Dry Cleaner solution
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Water
  • Towel
  • Toothbrush (optional)

Steps to Remove Grease and Oil Stains from Double Georgette

  1. Check if the double georgette fabric is sensitive to water by testing it in an inconspicuous area of the fabric.
  2. If it is safe to do so, pre-treat the area with a dry cleaner solution, such as Afta Dry Cleaning Fluid. Apply it to the stain and massage it gently with a clean cloth.
  3. Rinse the area with lukewarm water. This will help to remove any residue from the dry cleaner solution.
  4. Make a thick lather of liquid laundry detergent in a bucket or basin containing warm water. Soak the stained area in the mixture.
  5. Gently rub the stained area with a toothbrush. This will help to break down any remaining grease and oil stains.
  6. Rinse the area with clean water. Blot the area dry with a clean cloth or towel.
  7. If the stain is still visible, try repeating the process until it is completely removed.

Additional Tips

  • If the fabric is not water safe, put some dry cleaner solution on stain and leave for 10 minutes, then wipe off with a clean cloth.
  • If the fabric is delicate, use a mild detergent instead of a harsh liquid soap.
  • Always test the detergent on a small area of the fabric before using it on the stain.
