Step 1: Apply Household Detergent

Take a brush or a cloth and cover stained area with a household detergent, giving it some time to penetrate fabric, allowing it to loosen the oil and grease. Once done, take a clean damp cloth and rinse off detergent.

Step 2: Apply Vinegar and Salt

Mix one part of white vinegar with two parts of salt and, using a brush this time, apply the mixture to the stained area. The mixture will act as a natural solvent and help break down the oil and grease even further. Let it sit for about ten minutes and then rinse it off with a clean cloth.

Step 3: Use a Laundry Detergent

Finally, apply some laundry detergent directly onto the stain and rub it in using a brush. Wait for around 10 minutes, rinse off the detergent, and then wash the item in the washing machine on a medium temperature. This final step should remove the stain completely.

Conclusion

If you have grease and oil stains on your cotton poplin items, process of removing them is surprisingly simple. Just follow above three steps and you should have no problem getting rid of the stains with ease.
