What You Need
- Liquid dish soap
- Pre-treater for laundry
- Laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- A washing machine
Instructions
- Start by pre-treating the stain with a spot removal pre-treatment product designed for laundry.
- Use manufacturer's instructions to apply the pre-treater, then let it sit for an hour.
- Mix up a solution of two parts water and one part white vinegar in a small bowl or cup.
- Soak stain for 15 minutes in the solution.
- Rinse the stain with warm water to remove any excess solution.
- Place the garment in the washing machine with a liquid dish soap and some laundry detergent.
- Run the wash cycle on the hottest water setting recommended for your garment.
- Once the cycle is complete, check to make sure the stain is gone.
- If necessary, repeat steps 1-8 until the stain is removed.
Tips
- If the stain remains, try soaking the garment in a solution of two parts water and one part bleach overnight before washing again.
- Always follow the care instructions on your garment's tag before attempting to clean any stains.
