Grease and oil stains can be a real pain. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. With this guide, you will learn how to get rid of those pesky stains in no time.

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

The first step is to pretreat the stain. Before you start, make sure the fabric is washable. Then, apply a prewash stain remover directly to the stain and let it sit for five minutes. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a dry cleaning solvent instead.

Step 2: Wash the Pants

Next, machine-wash the cargo pants. Choose a cycle that is gentle and set temperature to the warmest setting recommended for the fabric type. For the detergent, use a heavy-duty formula that contains enzymes to break down oils and grease.

Step 3: Air-Dry the Pants

Once pants are done washing, air-dry them. Avoid placing them in the dryer because this may cause the stain to set in. Instead, hang them up and let them air-dry completely.

Step 4: Re-Wash the Pants

If the stain is still visible after the first wash, re-wash cargo pants using the same settings as before. Use the pre-treatment method again to help further break down stain.

Step 5: Inspect and Wear

Once the cargo pants are completely dry, inspect them for any remaining stains. If the stain is gone, then you’re done! You can wear your cargo pants now and enjoy being grease- and oil-stain free.
