You'll need a few items in order to tackle the grease and oil spots: white vinegar, a bucket, a small bowl, liquid detergent, a brush or sponge, and a towel.
Fill the bucket with warm water and add some liquid detergent. In the small bowl, mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with two teaspoons of warm water. Dip brush or sponge into the vinegar solution, then gently rub it into affected area. Allow the pre-treatment to sit on the stain for 15 minutes before moving on to the next step.
Once the pre-treatment has set, rinse the fabric with warm water and then place it into bucket with the liquid detergent. Swish the fabric around in the water and let it soak for 10 minutes. Remove the fabric from the water and gently rub stained area with the brush or sponge.
After scrubbing fabric, rinse it again with warm water and then wring it out. Lay the cardigan flat on a clean towel, gently pressing down with another towel on top to absorb the excess moisture. Allow the fabric to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
By following these steps, you can easily remove stubborn grease and oil stains from your cardigan. As long as you take the time to pre-treat stain and launder the material properly, you'll have your cardigan looking like new in no time!
