What You'll Need

  • Paper towels
  • Dish soap or detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Laundry detergents

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Use a paper towel to blot the stained area. Take care to not rub the fabric, which can spread the stain and worsen it.
  2. Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish soap with two cups of cold water. Dip a cloth into the mixture, then dab the stained area.
  3. Rinse the affected area with cold water. Use a paper towel to dry it.
  4. If stain persists, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of cold water. Dab stained area with a cloth dampened with mixture.
  5. Apply a paste made of one tablespoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of water to the stained area. Leave the paste on for around thirty minutes.
  6. Rinse the paste off with cold water. Use a soft cloth to dab the area dry.
  7. If the stain is still visible, apply a small amount of laundry detergent to stained area and use an old toothbrush to scrub it into the fabric. Let it sit for ten minutes.
  8. Rinse the area with cold water and pat it dry with a soft cloth.
