What You’ll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Stain remover or WD-40
  • Clean cloths
  • Lukewarm water

Step 1: Blot Up Excess Grease/Oil

Start by blotting up as much of the excess grease or oil as possible using a clean cloth. Don't rub the fabric or you might spread the stain further.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover or WD-40

Spray the stain remover or WD-40 directly onto the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. If you don't have either of these products, don't worry - white vinegar will also work.

Step 3: Wash With Detergent

Create a lukewarm water and laundry detergent solution and soak the fabric for 10 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly in lukewarm water.

Step 4: Dry and Inspect

Finally, hang the dress somewhere warm, but out of direct sunlight, and allow it to dry. Once it is dry, inspect to make sure the stain has been removed. If it's still there, repeat steps 2 and 3.
