What You'll Need

  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Clean, white cloth

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Mix together a solution of one part mild detergent and one part white vinegar.
  2. Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub the stained area.
  3. Rinse the solution off with a clean, damp white cloth.
  4. Blot the surface of the fabric with a dry white cloth and let it air-dry, then right side up on a flat surface.

Note: Do not machine-wash the fabric, as this could cause further damage.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is still present after the spot-cleaning process, repeat the same steps again.
  • For tougher stains, try soaking the lace overnight in a warm solution of detergent and white vinegar.
  • Never mix bleach with white vinegar when cleaning Venetian lace, as this could irreparably damage the fabric.
