The first step is to use detergent and hot water as soon as possible. Fill a sink or a basin with warm water and add some liquid detergent in it. Soak your underwear in soapy water for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, scrub them gently with a soft brush to break up stain. Then, rinse your underwear in cold running water to get rid of the suds. Finally, hang them out to dry in the sun.
White vinegar is known as an effective ingredient when it comes to removing grease and oil-based stains. Simply mix equal parts of white vinegar and warm water and submerge your underwear in the mixture. Let them soak for about 15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse them in cold water and lay them out flat to dry.
Rubbing alcohol can also be used to remove gravy stains. Simply take some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or paper towel and dab it on the stained area. Don’t rub as it may cause stain to spread. After applying the rubbing alcohol, rinse the garment with cold water and allow it to air dry.
Baking soda is a natural cleaning product that can deeply penetrate fabric to dissolve stubborn grease and oil stains. Simply make a paste by mixing three parts baking soda and one part water. Apply the paste on the stained area and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it off with cold water and hang your underwear out to dry.
Getting rid of gravy stains from your underwear is not as hard as it seems. With simple methods described above, you can easily get them out in no time! Just remember to be quick and act as soon as possible to prevent the stain from setting in.
