Firstly, pre-treat the stained area with a stain remover spray or cream. Make sure to check the care label of your twill garment for any special instructions before using the product. Work the product into the stained area with a soft cloth or brush for several minutes.

Once the pre-treatment is finished, it’s time for laundering. Place the stained area of the garment into a washing machine with some detergent. For extra stubborn stains, a second pre-treatment with a laundry spotter may be necessary. Check the care label to ensure it is safe to use on twill.

After the wash cycle is complete, take the garment out and inspect it closely. If the stain remains, continue pre-treating and laundering until the stain has been removed.

For extra tough stains, you can try soaking the garment in a mixture of 1 quart warm water, ½ teaspoon mild detergent, ¼ teaspoon white vinegar, and 2 tablespoons borax. After soaking for up to eight hours, rinse the item and launder as usual.

It’s also important to note that as twill is a delicate fabric, using harsh chemical treatments or scrubbing too vigorously can cause damage. To protect against this, use a gentle cleaning solution and treat unique fabrics according to their instructions.
