Removing Wet Gravy Stains

If the gravy stain is still wet, blot the area immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not spread the stain further, by rubbing it into the fabric. Absorb as much of stain as possible, and rinse the spot in cold water.

Removing Dried Gravy Stains

For dried gravy stains, mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent, and two tablespoons of white vinegar with one quart of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture, and dab the stained area. Rinse with cold water, and repeat if necessary.

Additional Stain Removal Tips

  • Wash the t-shirt with a pre-treatment solution or soap that contains enzymes. Follow the directions on label.
  • If the stain persists after washing, try soaking the shirt in white vinegar and cold water for 15 minutes, before washing again.
  • You may also try other commercial stain removers, following instructions on the label.
