The first step in dealing with any stain is acting quickly. The quicker you deal with the stain, the easier it will be to remove and the less damage done to the garment. Try lifting the excess gravy off the fabric as soon as possible with a spoon or spatula. Make sure you avoid rubbing it further into the fabric.
Once excess gravy has been removed, dip a clean cloth or paper in warm water and blot the stained area. This will help to lift remaining stain away from fabric and prevent it from setting in more. Do not rub the stain as it will just spread further.
In a bowl, mix a gentle detergent such as liquid dish soap with warm water and gently dab the stained area with the solution. This should help to loosen up the stain and break it down further. Avoid rubbing the fabric to prevent further spreading of the stain.
Rinse the area with cold water and dab dry. If the stain is still visible, repeat the previous steps until it is completely gone.
Let the fabric air dry completely before putting it into the laundry machine. Once dry, proceed to wash the garment as normal.
