Step 1: Bail Out the Excess

As soon as you notice the stain, use a spoon or other flat utensil to remove as much excess gravy as possible. This will help reduce the stain and make the cleaning process easier.

Step 2: Blot the Area

Once the excess gravy has been removed, use a clean, white cloth or paper towel to gently blot the area. Do not rub, as this could cause stain to spread. Instead, blot area using a firm pressure to draw the stain out of fabric.

Step 3: Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix two teaspoons of liquid laundry detergent with one cup of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mix and wring it out so that it is damp but not dripping. Blot stained area using the damp cloth. Be sure to press firmly but gently. Repeat until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Rinse the Area

Once the stain is gone, use a clean cloth dipped in clean, warm water to rinse the area. Blot the area dry using a clean cloth.

Step 5: Launder the Fabric

Place fabric in the washing machine and launder as usual. Check the area before putting it in the dryer to make sure the stain is completely gone.

Conclusion

These five steps make it easy to remove gravy stains from taffeta fabric. The key is to act quickly and remove the excess gravy before it has time to set into the fabric. With a little patience and perseverance, your taffeta will be looking as good as new!
