Removing gravy stains from swimwear can be a tricky affair. As a greasy substance, you'll need to take extra care when treating the stain before laundering. However, with the right approach, you can quickly and safely get rid of those gravy stains with ease.
Step 1 – Blot the Stain
The first step to take is to blot the stain with a paper towel or a couple of cloths. This will help to get rid of any excess gravy that hasn't already been soaked up into the fibres of the fabric. Blotting the stain can also help to prevent it from setting in and becoming harder to remove later.
Step 2 – Pretreat the Stain
Pretreating the stain is a great way to make sure that it gets removed properly. To do this, use a prewash product, such as a stain remover or laundry detergent, and apply it directly onto the stain. Once applied, allow the product to sit for 10 minutes before moving onto the next step.
Step 3 – Launder the Swimwear
Once the product has had time to work its magic, you can launder the swimwear as you normally would. Before throwing it in the machine, make sure to check the care instructions on garment and set the machine to the recommended temperature. Additionally, you may want to add some extra detergent or a few tablespoons of white vinegar to help break down and remove the stain.
