How to Get Out Gravy Stains on Your Favorite Sports Bra with Ease

Gravy stains on a sports bra can be a real nuisance. But fret not, it is possible to remove them with simple household items.

Sports bras tend to get stained easily due to sweat and body oils, and sometimes the occasional gravy spills! Greasy splotches on activewear may be uncomfortable and difficult to get rid of, but with a few simple tips and tricks, you can remove those gravy stains from your favorite sports bras.

What You Need

  • Dish liquid
  • White vinegar
  • Laundry detergent
  • Baking soda
  • Rubbing alcohol (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Start off by removing any excess gravy from spot using a paper towel or clean cloth. Be careful not to spread the stain out.
  2. Mix together a solution of 2 teaspoons of dish liquid, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and ¼ cup of warm water. Dip a cloth in the mixture and blot gravy stain.
  3. If more grease remains, combine 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water and apply it to stain. Allow it to sit for two minutes before scrubbing it lightly with a soft-bristle brush.
  4. Mix together a solution of one teaspoon baking soda and one cup of warm water. Apply the paste to the stain and scrub lightly.
  5. Rinse off the stained area with cool water and inspect for remaining grease. If any still remains, repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary.
  6. Allow the sports bra to air-dry before wearing it again.

Tips & Warnings

  • For tougher grease stains, try using rubbing alcohol after soaking area in the dish soap and vinegar solution.
  • Be sure to test any cleaning solutions used on a small, hidden area of the sports bra first to ensure that it will not damage the fabric.
