Having a special dinner at home and spilled some gravy on your favorite piece of silk tussah fabric? Don’t worry, you can easily take care of this mess and make sure that your garment comes out looking as good as new. With some easy steps and a bit of time, you can eliminate those unsightly gravy stains from your silk tussah fabric.
Before you start cleaning the stain, you need to remove as much excess gravy as you can. You can do this by blotting area with some white paper towels or cloth napkins. Make sure not to press too hard – you don’t want to make the stain worse.
Once you’ve gotten rid of the excess gravy, you can apply a mild detergent to the area. Use a sponge to lather the detergent in and gently rub area. Be careful not to rub too hard as this could damage the fabric.
After you’ve applied detergent, rinse the garment with cold water. If the stain still hasn’t disappeared, repeat steps 1-3 until you’ve gotten rid of the stain.
Once you’ve gotten rid of the stain, lay the garment flat in a warm spot and let it air dry. You can also use a fan to speed up the drying process. Once the garment is completely dry, check for any remaining stains. If there are any, repeat steps 1 - 4 until the stain is fully removed.
