What You'll Need

  • Six gallons of warm water
  • A mild detergent like Woolite
  • Salt
  • White vinegar
  • A spray bottle

Steps

  1. The first step is to gently blot up as much liquid from the stain as possible with a dry, absorbent cloth.
  2. Mix a solution of six gallons of warm water and three tablespoons of mild detergent in a large basin and stir until fully incorporated.
  3. Submerge the stained fabric completely into water solution and leave to soak for fifteen minutes.
  4. Stir the solution every 5-10 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes, take the fabric out of solution and rinse it thoroughly.
  6. Mix one tablespoon of salt into a quart of warm water in a spray bottle.
  7. Spray salt solution onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  8. Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar into a gallon of warm water in the large basin.
  9. Place the fabric in vinegar solution and let it soak for another 15 minute.
  10. Remove the fabric from the solution and rinse thoroughly.
  11. Let the fabric air dry or machine dry on low heat.
