Step 1: Treat the Stain As Soon As Possible

The faster you act, the better the chances of your silk organza garment not being ruined. As soon as you notice stain, take the garment off and start treating it. Use a paper towel or clean cloth to blot the liquid off. This will help the sauce soak up on the material and keep it from staining even more.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Get some detergent and dampen it on a washcloth. Rub the detergent over the stain gently and be careful not to press too hard, because it may damage the fabric. Leave the detergent for at least 5 minutes before you move on to the next step.

Step 3: Rinse with Water

Gently rinse the fabric with cold water to remove the detergent. Be sure to rinse thoroughly, as any remaining detergent residue can leave a stain once the garment is dry.

Step 4: Wash the Fabric

If the stain is still there, fill up a sink or bucket with lukewarm water and mild soap. Soak the garment in the mixture for at least 15 minutes and then agitate it gently. After that, let the fabric air dry and see if the stain is gone.

Step 5: Repeat if Necessary

If after air drying, the stain is still there, repeat steps 2 through 4 until the stain is gone. You may also try spot cleaning with vinegar or alcohol to help remove stubborn stains.

Step 6: Run Through the Washing Machine

Once stain is gone, it is time to run the garment through the washing machine. Use a mild laundry detergent to prevent further damage to the fabric. Set the machine in gentle cycle and use cold water to avoid shrinkage.

And You’re Done!

Now you can enjoy your garment again without worrying about gravy stains. Remember to always treat a stain as soon as possible for the best results, and follow instructions in the label of your garment.
